Large Submarine Cable & Dredging Floats are high-performance buoyancy and abrasion-protection equipment designed specifically for offshore wind power cable laying, marine oil and gas pipeline installation, and large-scale dredging and land reclamation projects.

During cable pull-in, subsea installation, and dredging operations, these floats are installed around the perimeter of cables or pipelines to provide precise positive buoyancy control. This effectively reduces underwater gravitational tension, preventing over-bending and structural damage. Meanwhile, the high-strength wear-resistant shell shields pipelines and subsea cables from seabed rock friction, ensuring safe, continuous marine operations.

Structure & Working Principle

The buoyancy module typically adopts a two-halves interlocking design, securely clamped over the cable or pipeline using high-tensile corrosion-resistant marine hardware:

High-Impact Outer Shell: Molded from wear-resistant polyurethane. It offers exceptional resistance to impact, tearing, and marine corrosion, withstanding severe wave impacts and seabed abrasion.

Closed-Cell Polyurethane Foam Core: Filled internally with high-density closed-cell polyurethane foam with ultra-low water absorption. Even if the outer shell suffers accidental surface damage, the internal core maintains stable buoyancy output.

Anti-Slip Liner & Fastener Assembly: Equipped with internal elastomeric polyurethane that firmly lock onto the cable/pipe outer jacket. This prevents axial slippage while protecting the outer cable sheath from clamping damage.
