Large Submarine Cable & Dredging Floats are high-performance buoyancy and abrasion-protection equipment designed specifically for offshore wind power cable laying, marine oil and gas pipeline installation, and large-scale dredging and land reclamation projects.
During cable pull-in, subsea installation, and dredging operations, these floats are installed around the perimeter of cables or pipelines to provide precise positive buoyancy control. This effectively reduces underwater gravitational tension, preventing over-bending and structural damage. Meanwhile, the high-strength wear-resistant shell shields pipelines and subsea cables from seabed rock friction, ensuring safe, continuous marine operations.

Structure & Working Principle
The buoyancy module typically adopts a two-halves interlocking design, securely clamped over the cable or pipeline using high-tensile corrosion-resistant marine hardware:
High-Impact Outer Shell: Molded from wear-resistant polyurethane. It offers exceptional resistance to impact, tearing, and marine corrosion, withstanding severe wave impacts and seabed abrasion.
Closed-Cell Polyurethane Foam Core: Filled internally with high-density closed-cell polyurethane foam with ultra-low water absorption. Even if the outer shell suffers accidental surface damage, the internal core maintains stable buoyancy output.
Anti-Slip Liner & Fastener Assembly: Equipped with internal elastomeric polyurethane that firmly lock onto the cable/pipe outer jacket. This prevents axial slippage while protecting the outer cable sheath from clamping damage.
Key Advantages for Floats & Buoyancy
Precise Buoyancy & Minimum Bend Radius Control: Significantly reduces the submerged weight of pipelines/cables during installation, maintaining the minimum allowable bend radius (MBR) and preventing conductor damage caused by excessive tension.
Superior Abrasion & Tear Resistance: Polyurethane/HDPE shells deliver a low friction coefficient and high wear resistance, acting as a physical buffer in complex subsea geologies (such as reefs and silt).
Zero Maintenance & Marine Weathering Resistance: Constructed from salt-spray-resistant materials that resist UV radiation and marine growth, providing a long operational lifespan exceeding 20 years.
Quick Assembly & Modular Deployment: Allows rapid on-deck assembly and bolting by offshore crews, substantially reducing vessel laydown time and operational costs.
Primary Applications of Floats & Buoyancy
Offshore Wind Farms & Subsea Cable Laying: Providing temporary or permanent buoyancy support and abrasion protection during inter-array and export cable landfall,过孔 (J-Tube pull-in), and subsea laydown.
Marine Dredging & Land Reclamation: Buoyancy and suspension support for cutter suction dredger discharge lines, subsea suction hoses, and floating pipelines.
Offshore Oil & Gas Pipelines: Buoyancy management and laydown route adjustment for flexible risers, umbilicals, and subsea pipelines.
