1. Project Background
To ensure the long-term operational stability of FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) and wellhead connection systems for an offshore oil field in Brazil, the client required critical stress protection for flexible risers and flowlines. Dynamic Riser Protection (FPSO Connection): Implementation of customized dynamic bend stiffeners. Utilizing advanced engineering simulation, we optimized the stress distribution at the top and bottom riser ends. This design effectively manages the bending angle under dynamic displacement, minimizes fatigue loading, and extends the fatigue life of critical connection components.
Static Flowline Protection (Wellhead Connection): Deployment of interlocking vertebrae bend restrictors. This system constructs a semi-rigid curved structure using high-strength components. Upon reaching the predefined Minimum Bending Radius (MBR), the structure automatically locks, preventing deformation beyond design limits and ensuring structural integrity throughout installation and operational life.
